Join to apply for the Data Center Technician role at Microsoft.As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will develop an understanding of standard processes and procedures for preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning equipment under the guidance of more experienced colleagues. This role offers an opportunity to learn about our Data Center environment, security, and data management procedures, fostering career growth.Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCT, you will play a key role in delivering infrastructure for services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. CO+I emphasizes employee development through training, career rotation, diversity initiatives, and certifications.Our infrastructure includes over 200 Data Centers worldwide, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90+ countries. We foster a culture of respect, integrity, inclusion, and collaboration, where everyone can thrive.ResponsibilitiesAssist in issue tracking, escalate problems, and seek guidance from experienced technicians.Participate in safety briefings, complete required safety and security training, and adhere to safety procedures.Complete assigned tickets efficiently, meeting KPIs and SLAs with guidance.Follow security and data management policies, completing related training.Maintain a client-focused approach, understanding the impact of your work.Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and staying informed about team activities.Take pride and responsibility for service quality and data center operations.Embody Microsoft’s culture and values.QualificationsHigh/Secondary School diploma, GED, apprenticeship, or equivalent, with basic knowledge of computer hardware.Ability to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Background Check RequirementsPass Microsoft’s security screening, including background checks.Verification of Australian Citizenship.Potential requirement for security clearance through the Australian Government.Preferred Qualifications1+ years supporting IT equipment or related technology.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+; Basic Structure Cabling.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
