TasNetworks is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Company Secretary to join our Company Secretariat team. Reporting to the Lead Counsel, Company & Compliance and working closely with the Company Secretary, this role will provide high-quality compliance and secretarial support, build and maintain diverse stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the smooth operation of the TasNetworks’ Group Boards and Committees.
The role is a key function across various tasks including:
* Coordinating the preparation and delivery of Board and Committee meetings, ensuring the timely production of high-quality papers, minutes, reports, and action registers.
* Assisting with the management of corporate and regulatory reporting obligations, including the preparation and lodgement of ASIC forms and maintenance of accurate records.
* Providing governance advice and support across the TasNetworks Group.
* Managing and coordinating the effective flow of information between the Board, its Committees, the CEO, and the Executive team, including triaging and responding to incoming emails and correspondence (and escalating where required).
* Supporting the execution of governance processes including the annual Board evaluation, Director recruitment and renewal, induction programs, and ongoing training.
* Developing and maintaining the Board’s annual planner, ensuring timely completion of key tasks.
About you
You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in company secretarial functions and a commitment to delivering high-quality governance support.
Specifically, you will:
* Bring proven experience supporting or operating within company secretarial functions, ideally with a sound understanding of corporate governance principles.
* Be able to work both autonomously and as part of a small team, manage competing priorities, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
* Demonstrate strong planning, coordination, and time management skills, with the ability to meet corporate reporting and regulatory deadlines.
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editing and report writing experience, with the ability to support the preparation of high-quality Board papers.
* Have strong proficiency in relevant software applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, as well as web-based platforms such as Diligent.
* Hold a Certificate in Governance and/or Diploma in Business Management or demonstrate equivalent competence in an executive administrative environment.
