Responsibilities As the
Principal - Technical Director (Primary Engineering), you will:
Provide Senior Technical Oversight : Lead all Primary Substation Design activities across HV and EHV systems (up to 500kV), ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Act as the Technical Authority : Mentor engineers, develop technical frameworks, and guide the long-term engineering strategy for the organisation.
Support Bids and Proposals : Shape technical strategies, develop scopes, and present innovative solutions to utilities, developers, and EPCs during the tendering process.
Qualifications To excel in this role, you will need:
Extensive Experience : A minimum of 15+ years of experience in transmission-level primary design.
Proven Track Record : Demonstrated success in delivering major projects for Australian Network Service Providers (NSPs).
Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of Primary Design, including layouts, clearances, switching configurations, earthing, busbar arrangements, and equipment specifications. Expertise in studies and models for ICs, Earthing, EMF, Static and Dynamic Loads analysis on conductors and tubular buses, Fire Risk Assessments, and Fire Protection.
Day-to-Day
Oversee and review detailed designs for HV and EHV substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical strategies and solutions for bids, proposals, and tenders.
Conduct technical studies and analyses, including earthing, EMF, and fire risk assessments, to support project delivery.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of engineering excellence.
