The Police Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in fostering trust and understanding between the Queensland Police Service and the wider community, with a particular emphasis on local First Nation communities.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop organizational understanding of First Nations cultures
* Provide advice on First Nations customs and protocols to ensure effective communication with the local community
* Work with QPS members to identify opportunities for strengthening community engagement and developing culturally appropriate crime prevention strategies
* Assist First Nations community members in accessing policing services and advise QPS members on referrals to other community services when needed
* Engage proactively with First Nations community groups and other multicultural and multifaith groups to identify and build community-led programs
* Identify and link key stakeholders across police, community, and government agencies to support community-based programs aimed at improving safety
Requirements
* Possession of a Queensland 'C' class driver's license or the ability to acquire one
* Wearing a Police Liaison Officer uniform and adhering to the QPS Code of Dress and Appearance
* Working to a set roster, including weekends and shifts, to attend local festivals and forums
