* Level OSE 2 | *Salary: $70,174 to $71,998, plus superannuation
* A 9-day fortnight work pattern applies to this role

The opportunity

Are you skilled in gardening, horticulture or turf management. We are looking for reliable and motivated individuals to join our team in maintaining the City's parks, reserves, foreshores and gardens. If you enjoy being active, take pride in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, this is the job for you

This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.

Currently, there are five (5) permanent vacancies available at both the City of Mandurah's Operations Centre on Park Road and Southern Operations Centre in Dawesville.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake horticultural tasks such as weeding, pruning, spraying and rubbish collection.
* Undertake mowing tasks such as operating ride on mowers, edgers and whippersnippers.
* Ensure all equipment is regularly maintained and in safe working order.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Work collaboratively with other team members and follow directions from Team Leaders and Supervisors.
* Provide positive customer service to the public, ratepayers and internal staff.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A current MR drivers' licence
* Two or more years of experience in gardening, landscaping, mowing and using horticultural equipment and machinery to maintain parks, reserves and turf
* Current White Card
* Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller Certificate (desirable)
* Chainsaw Certificate (desirable)
* A willingness to do physical work outdoors as part of a team
* A strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
* Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
* Certificate II or III in Horticulture or Turf Management (desirable)
