Opal Bag Solutions operates across Australia to provide tailored high performance paper bag and other paper-based packaging solutions. We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest packaging companies in Australia as our Thomastown site is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to come onboard
Leading the maintenance team the key focus of this role will be to:
* Develop strategic maintenance plans for the plant and equipment and optimise maintenance systems
* Lead, supervise and oversee the work of the maintenance team to ensure minimal interruption to manufacturing operations
* Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with manufacturing workplace, health and safety policies and practices
* Management work orders and the oversee of spare parts inventory
* Providing downtime reporting, whilst aiming at measuring and minimising unplanned downtime events
* Support the maintenance team in achieving both team and individual KPIs (as allocated by the Engineering and Maintenance Manager)
* Support continuous improvement projects in conjunction with the engineering team

For this role we would ideally like you to have:
* A trade qualification (preferably mechanical or electrical)
* Extensive experience as a tradesperson (e.g. qualified fitter or electrician)
* 5+ years as a team leader or supervisor of maintenance teams
* Experience in an automated FMCG or other fast-paced environments
* Well-versed in using SAP and CMMS systems (SAP experience would be highly regarded)
* Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills
* The ability to work under pressure, achieve tight deadlines, set directions and drive results
