Job Overview
The Arborist & Gardeners will play a key role in maintaining and upgrading garden beds and open spaces within the municipality.
This position requires someone with strong horticultural skills, who can work effectively with various plant equipment and climb trees safely.
Apart from tree maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for planting new trees and shrubs, preparing sites and transporting plants.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with council plant and equipment, such as elevated platform plant, trucks, travel towers and manual cutting tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, upgrade and rehabilitate garden beds and open space assets
* Work multi-skilled across Parks Services to meet operational priorities
* Assist the Tree Crew with street and park tree maintenance
* Plant trees and shrubs, including preparation of site and transportation of plants
* Operate council plant and equipment, including elevated platform plant, trucks, travel towers and associated equipment, manual and mechanical cutting tools, climbing equipment
* Assist in estimation and ordering of plants, trees and shrubs
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Current Australian Driver's license
* National Criminal History Check
* Full working rights within Australia
* Beneficial MR licence, Chainsaw Cert & Traffic Control Ticket
