We are seeking an Electrical Protection and Control Engineer to join our team.
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical protection and control systems for substations, including the specification of equipment, calculation of settings, and creation of documentation. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in this field, a proven track record of delivering complex projects, and excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transmission and distribution protection and control, as well as substation automation and SCADA system design. They will also be able to work effectively with other designers, construction professionals, and engineering teams, and liaise with external stakeholders such as end clients and design houses.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement electrical protection and control systems for substations
* Specify equipment and calculate settings for implementation
* Create documentation, including specifications and P&C logic drawings
* Generate PSL logic files and relay setting files for various relays
* Collaborate with other designers, construction professionals, and engineering teams
* Liaise with external stakeholders, including end clients and design houses
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
* Chartered status (CEng) with a professional body such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
* Extensive experience in electrical protection and control system design, substation automation and SCADA system design, typically 8-10 years
* Certifications such as NEBOSH for health and safety may be beneficial
