Overview
We are a well-established medium-sized manufacturer on the NSW Central Coast servicing Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia with specialised technical products and services.
The Role
A full-time position has become available for an Accountant, located at our offices on the NSW Central Coast (part-time hours will also be considered). Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the Senior Finance Officer and Accounts/Admin Officer.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end closings, reconciliations, compliance reports, and maintain robust internal controls.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the finance department to support budgeting exercises, audits, and ad-hoc analysis; communicate findings clearly within a team environment.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements and reports to ensure timely and accurate information for decision-making.
- Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare BAS, GST, and other regulatory compliance reporting.
- Assist in budgets and forecasts by gathering data and providing supporting analysis for future planning.
- Support internal and external audit processes by collecting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal controls and regulatory standards; maintain organized financial records.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by senior team members.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (including basic formulas); good working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable and accounting systems.
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously; use initiative and maintain a can-do attitude; flexibility to help other departments when directed.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central or Navision is preferred; CA/CPA qualification and prior manufacturing experience would be positive.
