As an Academic Sessional, you will provide student supervision with a student-centred approach, offer academic advice, and collaborate with other staff members. You will also contribute to the development of engaging supervision models, incorporate scholarship and expertise into teaching practices, and support research activities.
The role requires flexibility and adaptability, as you will be working with students from diverse backgrounds and facilitating practicum experiences according to University and Facility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise students effectively with a student-centred approach.
* Provide academic counselling, mentoring, and advice to students related to their clinical placement.
* Collaborate with other staff members, including Clinical Education staff, Leadership, and stakeholders from external clinical facilities and universities.
* Contribute to the development of engaging supervision models.
* Incorporate scholarship and expertise into teaching practices.
* Support research activities, including collaborative projects and scholarship of teaching and learning.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience recognised by the institution as appropriate for the discipline area.
* Experience in teaching and/or research within a university or teaching environment will be highly regarded.
* Desirable: Evidence of progress towards advanced clinical and/or academic qualifications, or interest in doing so.
