Aircraft Avionics Maintenance Role

We are seeking skilled Avionics technicians to join our team at RAAF Base Pearce, WA. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will be working hands-on in an environment that demonstrates excellence, innovation, and teamwork.

This is your chance to be part of the supporting team looking after the Hawk Lead-In Fighter, one of the world's most successful advanced military jet trainer aircraft.

In this role, you will be instrumental in keeping our fleet ready and safe. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you'll be responsible for collaborating with the Shift Team Lead to execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring all technical documentation is up-to-date and authorised.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining accurate records of work performed, ensuring all procedures comply with Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) regulations.
• Identifying and reporting defects, maintenance issues, and quality non-conformances as they arise.
• Adhering to high standards of safety and quality while operating workshop equipment and performing maintenance tasks.
• Supporting flight operations as needed to meet operational demands.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities. We believe in hiring for potential, and we know that some candidates may hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes. If this role interests you, but you don't meet all the criteria, we still encourage you to apply.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) and proven experience in a similar workshop or hangar role. They will also need to be able to secure and maintain a 'Baseline' defense security clearance. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment are essential for success in this role.

You will be joining a workplace that truly cares about your wellbeing. Our people are diverse, and we value the variety of perspectives this brings. We know that a culture that is inclusive and fosters a sense of belonging is a place where everyone can make the most of their unique talents and be their best.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of sex, gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, pregnancy, age, or other lived experience. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for all positions. We are proud to be recognised as an employer of choice for women by WORK180.
