About the role

As an Australian Parliament House Tour Guide, you'll welcome all visitors into the building, deliver engaging tours that bring the story of Australia's democracy and Parliament House to life.

You'll assist visitors connect with the building's history and national significance, while ensuring every experience is world-class.

We're seeking enthusiastic communicators who can collaborate effectively within a large, diverse team of passionate professionals. If you love learning, sharing knowledge and enjoy meeting people, and thrive in a dynamic environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

What we can offer

Flexible shifts across a 7-day roster – full or part days available

Working in a building that's open 364 days a year, offering variety and excitement every day.

Successful applicants will need to:

Be able to walk and stand on a range of surfaces.

Work on a roster where weekend, public holidays and some after-hours work may be required.

Use voice amplification equipment for some aspects of the Tour Guide role.

Wear a uniform.

Successful candidates will undertake a pre-employment medical assessment prior to commencing work.

Timeline

Interviews for shortlisted candidates in mid-March, with commencement from May.

Job Specific Requirements:

* Obtain and maintain a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card
* The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
