The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to join our Business Information Systems (BIS) directorate as the Director Strategy and Architecture.
In this pivotal role, you will shape the Department's long-term ICT direction, leading the development of enterprise-wide architecture, cloud governance, and strategic planning frameworks. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning technology strategy with business planning and organisational goals, enabling the Department's vision for a safer, smarter, and more connected Western Australia.
As a key member of the BIS Leadership Team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and collaborate across BIS to support governance development, strategic alignment, and innovation. You will provide high-level strategic advice to the Chief Information Officer, influence cross-agency collaboration, and guide the evolution of technical standards and future-focused ICT capabilities.

* Bridge strategy and delivery – connecting ICT strategy, enterprise architecture and cloud leadership with business planning, governance and operational needs, while making pragmatic decisions that enable iterative delivery of value.
* Collaborate across functions – working effectively with peers to support governance development, sustainable operations and ensure strategic coherence across delivery streams.
* Navigate complexity – balancing technical, time and budget constraints, competing priorities, managing risk, and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
* Champion innovation – staying ahead of emerging technologies and trends to shape the future of ICT at DTMI.
