Senior Accounting Professional


About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing month end, quarter end, and yearly accounting, as well as associated reporting, variance analysis, and commentary.

* Preparation of consolidated financial statements and cashflows, management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting experience is essential.
* Audit, tax, and payroll experience is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with large organizational structures and ability to work in an unstructured environment are required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and presentation skills. Intermediate to advanced excel skills are also necessary.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Senior Accountant will also be responsible for:

* Reconciling balance sheet and P&L accounts.
* Preparing rolling cashflow forecasts and managing cash requirements.
* Assisting with quarterly forecasting and yearly budgeting.


Key Responsibilities:

* Preparation of month end, quarter end, and yearly accounting along with associated reporting, variance analysis, and commentary.
* Assist with preparation of statutory financial statements.
* Actively participate in the audit process for both group and local audit.
* Reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L accounts.
* Preparation of rolling cashflow forecasts and manage cash requirements.
* Assist with quarterly forecasting and yearly budgeting.
* Ensure the accounts payable function operates effectively and efficiently including reviewing and approving invoices and supplier payment runs.
* Ensure the accounts receivable function operates efficiently and effectively including raising invoices in a timely manner.
* Build strong relationships and communication channels with areas around the business and provide support to other departments.
* Assist the Tax Manager with gathering information for tax lodgments such as BAS, CAS and annual FBT return.
* Identify process improvement and automation opportunities, as well as any gaps in current policies and procedures.


Requirements:

* Candidate should have CPA/CA qualification essential, preferably CA qualified.
* Proven accounting experience (preferably 5+ years), ideally with an audit background.
* Good knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
* Demonstrate high interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
