Work with vulnerable youth in a supportive environment
This role involves working with young people aged 12 to 17 who are living in out of home care due to child protection orders.
As a residential care worker, you will be responsible for building positive relationships with the young people and your fellow team members, following routines developed specifically for each individual's needs, transporting them to school and appointments, and assisting in the implementation of programs designed for their growth and development.
You will also be required to create a safe and homely environment for the young people, assist with daily tasks such as mealtimes and activities, and complete summary notes.
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
* Current Working with Children Check
* Current First Aid Certificate
* National Police Check
* International Police Check (if applicable)
* A current driver's licence
* Willingness to participate in a Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check
The employee is required to be enrolled in/undertaking or hold a recognised relevant qualification, such as Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or a similar qualification.
