Offer description

Support Workers – High‑Intensity & Standard | Maryborough

Casual, Part‑time or Full‑time | Above‑award pay ($40–$78.72 p/h incl. penalties) | Immediate start

-----------------------------------

Help people live the lives they choose — with the training and 24/7 backing to do your best work.

Cross Care Group supports adults with complex disability, medical and behavioural needs to live safely and well at home and in the community. Many clients in the Maryborough area require High‑Intensity Daily Personal Activities — we'll make sure you're trained, competent and supported before you do them.

Why join Cross Care Group

* Above‑award pay with penalty rates, plus salary‑packaging options (where eligible).
* Rosters you can plan around — set monthly rosters issued four weeks in advance.
* True 24/7 support — on‑call clinical leads and rostering teams when you need them.
* Career pathways — paid development, and study support (e.g., SW → EN → RN → Clinical Lead).
* Safety first — if you're not signed‑off as competent and credentialled for a task, you won't be rostered to it.
* Inclusive culture — you're welcome here, and so are your ideas.

The opportunity (Maryborough)

Join our community team providing one‑to‑one supports across home, community and (at times) educational settings. Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and active nights with consistent clients close to home.

What you'll do

* Deliver personal and clinical supports appropriate to your competency and delegation, which may include: medication support, diabetes care, bowel care, catheter support, PEG/enteral feeding, tracheostomy support/suctioning, epilepsy/seizure management, pressure care, complex hoisting and manual handling.
* Implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies to enable participation and emotional regulation.
* Facilitate communication (including AAC) and encourage engagement in education, employment, sport and recreation.
* Complete accurate progress notes and escalate changes or risks to the clinical team in a timely way.
* Partner with families, clinicians and coordinators to deliver person‑centred outcomes.

Important: You will only perform high‑intensity tasks you are trained, assessed as competent and specifically privileged to do.

What you'll bring

* Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability (or equivalent/working towards) or significant relevant lived experience.
* Current First Aid (HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID009) or willingness to obtain.
* NDIS Worker Screening (or eligible to apply) and Blue Card (if required by participant cohort).
* Australian driver licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
* Confidence with smartphones/apps for rostering and notes.
* Empathy, resilience and a genuine commitment to person‑centred practice.
* Experience with complex care, mental health or behaviour support is highly regarded.

How we set you up for success

* Paid induction, buddying and shadow shifts before working solo.
* Observed‑practice sign‑offs for high‑risk skills — no guesswork, no unsafe assignments.
* Ongoing mentoring and clinical supervision, plus specialty training (epilepsy, diabetes, manual handling, tracheostomy, bowel care, PBS and more).
* Employee Assistance Program for you and your immediate family.

Pay, perks & conditions

* $40–$78.72 per hour (classification/shift‑type dependent) + penalties.
* Travel and allowances in line with policy/legislation where applicable.
* Casual, part‑time or full‑time options available; we'll discuss preferred hours during screening.
