Are you a hands-on Network Technician with experience supporting industrial environments? We’re partnering with a global leader in mining infrastructure to find a skilled technician to support and maintain OT networks across their Australian operations.
About the Role:
You’ll be responsible for the configuration, installation, and support of Operational Technology (OT) networking equipment including switches, routers, and industrial communication devices such as repeaters and media converters. This is a field-based, hands-on position working with ruggedised network equipment in critical infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 switches and industrial-grade routers
* Install, maintain, and test industrial repeaters and media converters
* Support fibre and copper connectivity in remote and underground environments
* Conduct network diagnostics and fault isolation for OT communication systems
* Liaise with engineers, electricians, and site personnel to ensure network stability
* Document network changes, configurations, and asset registers
Key Technologies:
* Cisco, Hirschmann, or similar industrial-grade switches and routers
* RS-232/RS-485 serial communications
* Industrial repeaters, media converters, and unmanaged switch technologies
* Protocols: TCP/IP, Modbus, SNMP
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working in mining, industrial, or energy sectors (preferred but not essential)
* Familiarity with OT environments and safety standards
* Strong hands-on experience in the field—installations, fault-finding, and commissioning
* Able to interpret network diagrams and electrical schematics
* Comfortable working in both surface and underground environments
