The Opportunity:
A leading national construction group is expanding its Tasmanian operations and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver major commercial projects across the state. With a strong pipeline of work, including sports facilities, airports, industrial warehouses and broader infrastructure. This role suits a Project Manager (or an experienced Site Manager / CA) experienced in delivering complex commercial projects for Tier 1 / 2 builders.
This is a full-time, permanent role with long-term career opportunity for Tasmanian locals or Australians looking to relocate. Relocation support is available for interstate applicants with full working rights.
Responsibilities:
Managing full project lifecycle of concurrent projects.
Collaborating with engineers, architects and consultants to determine project specifications.
Negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to secure commercially sound agreements.
Ensuring all permits, licences and regulatory approvals are obtained.
Determining resourcing needs (people, plant, materials) within budget constraints.
Planning all construction operations and managing key project phases.
Leading contractors, site teams and project personnel.
Monitoring progress, producing detailed reports and maintaining quality standards.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards, legislation and contract obligations.
Managing project risks, opportunities and financial performance.
Requirements:
Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects (Tier 1 / 2 ideal)
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Buliders Licence)
Knowledge of Tasmanian construction legislation and Codes of Practice is preferred but not essential
Exceptional communication and relationship skills
Strong analytical, problem solving and planning capability
Ability to lead teams and operate autonomously when needed
A collaborative style with strong stakeholder management
