The Opportunity
An accomplished Head of Human Resources (Interim) is required to provide senior leadership during a period of transition and change. Reporting to the Executive team, this role will lead the HR function nationally, supporting a large, geographically dispersed workforce operating within a highly regulated, funding-driven environment. This is an interim role with an immediate start, ideal for a senior HR leader who can quickly embed, provide stability, and add value at both strategic and operational levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the national HR function, ensuring continuity, compliance, and effective people strategies
* Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive team on workforce, industrial relations, and organisational risk
* Manage complex employee and industrial relations matters within unionised and regulated settings
* Provide HR leadership across workforce planning, performance, remuneration, WHS, and employee engagement
* Support organisational change, service transformation, and workforce restructuring initiatives
* Ensure compliance with employment legislation, awards, and regulatory requirements relevant to NDIS and human services
* Lead and develop a multi-state HR team and support leaders across frontline service environments
About You
You are a highly experienced senior HR leader with demonstrated success in NDIS and/or broader human services environments, where workforce complexity, compliance, and service continuity are critical.
You will bring:
* Proven experience at Head of HR / HR Director level in large, complex organisations
* Strong knowledge of NDIS workforce requirements, funding models, and regulatory obligations, or equivalent human services frameworks
* Deep expertise in industrial relations and Australian employment legislation
* Experience partnering with Executive teams through periods of change and transition
* A pragmatic, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to operate strategically and operationally
* Capacity to commence immediately or at short notice
Location & Flexibility
This role can be based in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria or South Australia, with flexible and hybrid working arrangements available. Interstate travel may be required from time to time.
