About Us

NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

The Lithgow Community Mental Health Team are a small, expert team of clinicians providing comprehensive mental health care and support to the Lithgow Community.

The successful incumbent will provide nursing care and comprehensive clinical mental health services to people with a mental illness or a mental disorder that is least intrusive, collaborative, recovery oriented through evidence based practice.

What You Will Bring To The Role
* Registered Nurse Division 1, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated mental health experience, including skills in Nursing Assessment and Interventions in community mental health.
* Relevant knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2007 of NSW to enable implementing its objects.
* Demonstrated communication skills, including verbal and written, with good interpersonal skills.
* Commitment and understanding of principles of Recovery Orientated Mental Health Practice in mental health service provision.
* Evidence and ability to meaningfully collaborate with consumers and their carers regarding mental health issues.
* Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
* Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Community and or In-Patient Mental Health nursing as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse).

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
