Mechanical Fitter – Meat Processing Facility

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at a busy meat processing facility in regional South Australia. This is a hands-on, permanent full-time position where you'll play a key role in keeping our high-volume production lines running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns on mechanical equipment including conveyors, pumps, compressors, boning lines, refrigeration systems, saws, grinders, and other processing machinery
* Fabricate, modify, and install mechanical components to specification
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime in a fast-paced 24/7 operation
* Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems (as relevant to mechanical scope)
* Ensure all work complies with food safety, WHS, and hygiene standards
* Participate in shutdowns, continuous improvement projects, and equipment upgrades
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
About You
* Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III or equivalent) – essential
* Previous experience in maintenance fitting, ideally in food processing, meatworks, manufacturing, FMCG, or heavy industry
* Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in fault-finding and repairs
* Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
* Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work well in a team environment
* Physically fit and comfortable working in a cold/wet processing environment (PPE provided)
* Available for rostered shifts, including afternoons/nights and occasional weekends (overtime opportunities available)
* Australian work rights and current driver's licence
