What you’ll need to be successful:
We are looking for long term employees, so unfortunately, we can’t accommodate working holiday visa holders, but if you have longer term work rights, we are keen to talk to you! At this stage, we are unable to offer sponsorship.
You don’t need to have farming experience; however, we find that people are more successful if they have worked with animals before, or have worked a physical role. We also need you to come with:
A good work ethic – farm work can be tough; the conditions are sometimes hot and wet!
A level of physical capability – for example, you’ll need to be able to safely lift feed, travel in vehicles such as buggies and tractors and stand for long periods.
Good communication skills – passing on information clearly and working with people from different backgrounds is important.
A commitment to health and safety practices – this is a non-negotiable.
Availability to work weekends and public holidays – caring for animals never takes a break! We have a rostered environment where you may have to work some weekends and/or public holidays.
Priority will be given to candidates who are locally based in the Cairns/Gordonvale area, or those who have enacted relocation plans. We won’t be considering applications from sponsorship or working holiday visa holders.
What we offer in return:
Full training, with the potential opportunities to attend industry specific training
Unique industry working hands on with animals
Above award pay rates
Supportive, low turnover team environment
Multicultural workplace
