The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is looking for an After Hours Nurse Manager [After Hours] (AHNM) who will cover [s] Mental Health Services after hours across Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. The position will be based at either Gosford or Wyong Hospital (at times covering both sites) depending on staff resources.
About The Opportunity The position of an After Hours Nurse Manager [After Hours] (AHNM) covers Mental Health Services after hours.
Consistent with the strategic directions of Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) and service plans, the After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM) is responsible for the integration, supervision and support of services and resources for Mental Health after hours. This incorporates an extended liaison role within CCLHD and external agencies. It is a senior role working in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary teams.
The After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM) communicates with members of the Mental Health CCLHD Executive and CCLHD Executives as necessary to ensure safe operation and the appropriate management of incidents and accidents, patient and staff complaints and public relations when other members of the management team are not available.
The AHNM has a leadership role and will, using a risk management framework, identify actual and emerging workforce and clinical issues that may impact on operational and/or financial outcomes. Ensuring timely management within their delegation and the provision of appropriate reporting, advice and escalation.

* Current registration with AHPRA as Division 1 Registered Nurse. Post graduate and/or clinical management experience in acute mental health across a variety of clinical services and/or relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards attainment.
* Demonstrated organisational, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage a broad range of complex issues and proven ability to provide input, interpret, implement, monitor and evaluate performance against targets, policies, procedures and standards.
* Demonstrated skills and knowledge of relevant information technology systems and their application for supporting effective patient flow and patient centered care, workforce management and other areas relevant to the key accountabilities.
* Demonstrated Workforce management abilities including an understanding of industrial relations and associated processes and procedures.
