Senior DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure as Code at Suncorp Group

About The Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer – IaC (known internally as a Platform Product Owner), you'll lead the delivery of reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities that enable secure, scalable, and policy‐compliant cloud provisioning. You'll work hands‐on with engineers and stakeholders to uplift automation maturity, drive developer enablement, and influence change across our cloud platforms.
What You'll Do
* Define and deliver the vision for IaC services, aligned to platform strategy and developer needs.
* Build reusable Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines that support secure, scalable cloud provisioning.
* Leverage languages such as Python and PowerShell to automate configuration tasks, enforce standards, and streamline infrastructure operations.
* Enable self‐service infrastructure through IaC usage guidelines, templates, and onboarding materials.
* Collaborate with engineers, architects, and internal customers to remove blockers and improve developer experience.
* Embed policy‐as‐code, tagging standards, and compliance guardrails into automation workflows.
* Lead retrospectives and improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, reusability, and maintainability of infrastructure code.
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience orchestrating end‐to‐end infrastructure automation in enterprise environments.
* Deep understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, with hands‐on Terraform expertise.
* Ability to influence change and take teams on a journey toward automation and engineering excellence.
* Experience delivering self‐service infrastructure capabilities that improve developer productivity.
* Strong collaboration skills with the ability to engage across engineering, security, and delivery teams.
* Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and staying current with emerging IaC and DevOps practices.
