Job Description Chef Sandoval's "made from scratch" restaurant combines authentic Latin ingredients with international flavors and inventive techniques to create unique cuisines, including modern and coastal Mexican, Latin-Asian, Peruvian, and Pan-Latin. Toro has recently been relaunching after extensive renovations.Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, responsibilities include but are not limited to:Basic knowledge of Asian Cuisine, including Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Mandarin, and Korean.Knowledge of Wok Cookery and Sushi production.Assist in creating new Asian Cuisine items for specials and new menus.Maintain knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.Proper use and maintenance of equipment.Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.Adhere to sanitation and health regulations and resort standards.Set up workstation with mise en place, tools, and supplies.Proper storage of food items.Clean and organize food prep areas and storage.Prepare menu items following recipes and guides.Notify supervisor of shortages.Communicate during busy periods to ensure guest satisfaction.Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in the sushi field is required.Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Highly responsible and reliable.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Teamwork skills.Focus on guest needs, maintaining calmness and courtesy.
