Breakfast Chef Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team at a boarding school in Alice Springs. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for students, as well as leading and managing a small team of catering assistants.
Main Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook nutritious home-style and gourmet meals for students daily meals, functions, conferences, and school/sporting camps.
* Assist in menu planning and ordering stock, while monitoring food costs and adhering to high food standards.
* Conduct stock takes, manage kitchen inventory, and support bulk cooking operations.
* Lead and manage a small team of catering assistants, providing guidance and training as needed.
Key Requirements
* Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred but not essential, training can be provided).
* Experience in bulk cooking, functions/conferences, and working with children.
* Permanent residence or long-term visa.
