The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Family Support Services (FSS) Worker to join our team in Darwin.

In this role, you will provide intensive family support to families referred primarily through the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (DTFHC). Using a strength-based, trauma-informed and culturally affirming approach, you will work alongside families to create safe, nurturing home environments and support the wellbeing of children.

You will deliver practical in-home support, child-centred and family-led casework, while building strong connections with community services and stakeholders to ensure families receive the support they need.

Your Impact

* Provide impactful in-home support and work collaboratively with families through case management and referrals.
* Facilitate group activities and family support programs.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and community service providers.
* Maintain accurate case notes, client records and reporting requirements.
* Apply strength-based and trauma-informed approaches that support family stability and child safety.
* Participate in regular clinical supervision to support reflective practice, professional development and high-quality service delivery.

What You'll Bring

* Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work or a related field (or currently working towards).
* Experience working with high-risk or vulnerable families in family support or casework roles.
* Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the ability to work in culturally safe ways.
* Experience providing in-home support and conducting home visits.
* Commitment to supporting families to implement child safety and wellbeing plans, strengthen parenting skills and maintain family unity.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with families, colleagues and stakeholders.
* Well-developed administration, report writing and ICT skills, including electronic client management systems.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, Child Safe principles, WHS and risk management practices.

Essential Checks

* Current NT Driver's Licence (minimum C Class)
* Current First Aid Certificate
* National Criminal History Check
* Current Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance – Category E)
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
