Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team in Tatura, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of staff involved in the implementation of plans and programs to deliver Forest and Fire Operations activities.
The Operations Coordinator will play a key role in leading staff and overseeing performance and development planning for workcentre staff. This position requires strong project management skills, planning, priority setting, budget management, and reporting across a wide range of programs.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that resources, vehicles, plant, and equipment are available for Forest Fire Operations, including emergency response. This role involves working with personnel from various agencies, supervising staff, and engaging with contractors and program delivery staff to implement programs and projects on public land and forest areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage works programs in planned burning, unsealed road management, or other operational forest management activities, including experience in managing staff.
* Experience and understanding of forest firefighting techniques, the Australian Interagency Incident Management System, and other emergency response activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., forestry, environmental science, business administration).
* Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a government or public sector organization.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
