ABOUT THE ENERGY NEWS BULLETIN EDITORIAL FUNCTION:
Energy News Bulletin (ENB) is Australia's largest integrated energy publication covering both the oil and gas industry and the integration of renewables and new energy like hydrogen.
The masthead has a 20-year history in Australia and was one of the first to move online in the early 2000s. We offer up to date market analysis, break stories, offer timely features and cover both ASX-listed companies and edicts from Canberra.

YOUR ROLE
The deputy editor is responsible for contributing to, and, with the editor, overseeing production of daily newsletters, as well as providing related, specified content and keeping abreast of all energy sector news. The deputy editor serves as editor when the latter is away and assigns work to more junior reporters and runs the daily news schedule.
The role involves assisting the editor with writing, assigning and supervising completion of work, sub-editing, and editing and representing the product and brand at key industry events.
As a senior editor in the Aspermont editorial team, you will work with the group managing editor and other senior editorial staff to provide other parts of the business with relevant market intelligence and contribute to interdepartmental briefings.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring the required quality and quantity of content is generated to specified deadlines.
* Managing day-to-day co-ordination of reporting, event-coverage, field trips, sub-editing/proofing, e-newsletter and magazine production assignments and work, to specified standards and in line with agreed budget controls.
* Producing copy according to the Aspermont Editorial Department house style, and to specified high levels of quality and accuracy.
* Communicating at a high level with key stakeholders in the industry and representing the editorial department on field trips, at press conferences and other mining industry events, and generating content as required.
* Working with the editor to develop and execute reader-engagement and subscriber-audience building plans and initiatives, which may include social media and other promotional activity.
* Maintaining a sound working knowledge of the information needs of the audience and ensuring ENB output meets those needs.
* Developing contact networks in the industry segments specified by the editor and where requested contribute to Aspermont's Editorial Department contact directories.
* Maintaining sound awareness of competitor products and updating key stakeholders to changes to these products.
* Collaborating with the editor on ongoing development of the core product offering (including multi-media elements), and marketing of same.
* Working with the sales department to manage and write relevant partner content.
* Participating in recruitment/resource-deployment processes.
How your success will be measured
* Delivery of assigned/specified content, at consistent high-performance levels, for Aspermont print and digital products.
* Growth in audience as demonstrated by website traffic, and magazine/e-magazine subscriptions.
* Development of energy and Asia-Pacific resources sector subject knowledge expertise, reflected in reporting levels and overall productivity, industry recognition (including awards) and levels of completed, assigned work.
* Contribution to planning and discussions in relation to content for new print and digital product opportunities across areas of expertise.
* Regular liaison with commercial teams to discuss publication performance and suggestions for improving content delivery and focus.
ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
* Substantial editorial experience, with a focus on energy/resources/finance or science preferred
* Reporting/analysis and understanding of financial markets and reporting.
* Editing/sub-editing.
* Business and technical knowledge of the energy and related sectors.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst ensuring standards and deadlines are met.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams
