About The Role
As a
Catering Assistant
, you will support the Chef / Chef Manager and peers in delivering a high quality catering service within the home. The
Support Worker – Laundry
will support the delivery of a safe and clean laundry service for residents in alignment with appropriate standards.
Key Responsibilities
Catering
Ensuring the catering service is adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements
Completing all appropriate food safety record forms as per legislation requirements
Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the Food Safety Program at all times
Wearing uniforms, appropriate protective clothing and footwear whilst in the workplace
Following strategies in the Food Safety Plan to prevent cross contamination
Preparing daily meals including beverages for residents that meet the special dietary requirements as instructed by the Chef Manager or Chef/Cook
Laundry
Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness
Collect, sort, wash, dry, sort and distribute clothing and linen as per laundry instructions
Ensure adequate stocks of clean linen, towels and laundry skip bags are available in the designated storage areas in the home

What you bring
Follow Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
Experience in a similar role in residential care, health care or hospitality sectors
Knowledge and experience in safe food handling
A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable)
Commercial laundry experience (desirable)
Experience in Aged Care (desirable)
