Medical Imaging Leadership Role
The Royal Hobart Hospital seeks a Director Medical Imaging to lead the medical imaging service in accordance with hospital bylaws, Tasmanian Health Service policy, and administrative instructions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational and strategic directions of the service in conjunction with the Nurse Unit Manager, Operations Manager, and Chief Radiographer.
About the Role:
This is a fixed-term full-time day work position (with on-call) working 76 hours per fortnight. The successful candidate will report to the Clinical Director - Critical Care, Clinical Support & Investigations and Executive Director Medical Services for the efficient and effective operation of the Tasmanian Health Service - Royal Hobart Hospital Medical (RHH) Imaging Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level strategic leadership and direction regarding Medical Imaging services, including clinical governance, professional matters, network development, and service integration.
- Undertake a clinical load with a portfolio of non-clinical work such as research, education, clinical governance, and other required work.
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director Medical Services in matters of a professional nature and the Clinical Director - CCCS&I in matters of an operational nature.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold specialist registration; or be a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway; or be a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.
