About Rewind Photo Lab
Rewind Photo Lab is a leading photo lab specialising in film processing, scanning, and printing, as well as Super 8 and 16mm motion picture film processing. Dedicated to preserving the art of film photography, we provide high-quality services to photography enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organised Photo Lab Retail Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, with the potential for extra shifts throughout the year. This position is ideal for a high school graduate or 1st-year university student looking for seasonal work who has a genuine interest in customer service and analog film photography. Experience with film photography, particularly shooting 35mm film, is strongly preferred but not required.
Training Information
While our main processing lab is in Sydney, our Wollongong store is focused on retail aspects of film photography, camera sales, and taking in film orders. You will receive hands-on training at our Sydney lab for a few days before transitioning to the retail environment in Wollongong, where you will complete your training.
Working Days Requirements
* Current required day to work is Monday 10am-6pm, although extra days can be available due to fluctuations in the roster.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate autonomously in a retail setting, managing day-to-day tasks effectively.
* Provide excellent customer service, including receiving and processing film orders.
* Advise customers on cameras, film types, and related products, guiding their purchases with expertise.
* Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, ensuring a welcoming environment.
* Learn and apply product knowledge with paid training provided at our Sydney lab, followed by retail-focused training in Wollongong.

* Customer Service Skills: A passion for helping customers and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
* Experience in Film Photography: Prior experience shooting 35mm film is preferred but not required. A passion for analog photography is essential.
* Organisational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage tasks efficiently, both professionally and personally.
* Time Management: Strong proficiency in managing time and meeting deadlines.
* Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick to identify issues and resolve them independently.
* Technical Interest: A keen interest in technology and a willingness to learn technical skills.
* Commitment to Cleanliness: A strong commitment to maintaining a clean and tidy workspace, crucial when handling delicate film.
* Image Literacy: Good visual literacy, able to recognize and understand issues in photographs.
