About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring customer contract requirements are met while providing support to our sites and the broader finance team. You'll assist with day-to-day accounting functions, contribute to meeting strict reporting deadlines, and gain exposure across a wide range of finance activities.
The responsibilities of the role include:
Contract Administration
 * Creation of sales orders and handover of purchase orders for production to the factories including specifications and quantities of fastenings, delivery requirements, sleeper type(s) and any special requirements.
 * Assist with maintenance of customer sales orders & load out requests.
 * Monitor production and dispatch in relation to contract requirements using tools provided eg Masterplan.
 * Assist with maintenance of commercial records including pre tender and post award documents.
 * Monitor bank guarantees issued to ensure they are returned when due.
 * Supplier compliance – insurances, etc.
Invoicing
 * Ensuring billing is in accordance with customer contracts
 * Monitoring customer contract obligations – invoicing volume levels, escalation periods, insurances, rebates, bonds and securities to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
 * Prepare and submit contract escalation spreadsheets.
 * Support operational team with production schedules to ensure contract timelines are adhered to.
Accounts Receivable
 * Liaise with customer and Austrak account manager to resolve invoicing issues.
 * Prepare and issue customer statements
 * Follow up customer collections
Finance
 * Maintain customer & supplier details.
 * Complete credit applications and review terms and conditions.
 * Assist in balancing intercompany recharges.
 * Prepare revenue & costs effects
 * Conduct on site audits to ensure compliance with company's internal controls, policies and procedures.
 * Assist year-end financial audits.
 * Assist with stock & system audits.
 * Assist with other reconciliations as assigned.
Vossloh Fastening Solutions Pty Ltd
 * Cash receipting and bank reconciliation
 * Process of all supplier and customer invoices
 * FX revaluation of Balance Sheet (monthly)
 * Intercompany reconciliation
 * Preparation and reconciliation of BAS
 * GL reconciliations including investigations
 * Month end reporting to P&L and Balance Sheet level
 * Submission of monthly COGNOS reporting
Systems
 * Perform User Acceptance Testing when requested.
 * Monitor Austrak Microsoft Access Database applications and investigate any issues.
Other
Other task as may be required from time to time.
