Help ensure Banyule's parks and open spaces remain safe, well maintained and ready for the community to enjoy.

Join Banyule City Council in a leadership role that helps shape the quality and upkeep of our parks and open spaces. As Park Assets Team Leader, you'll lead the management of Council's Open Space Asset Maintenance Service, providing technical advice, operational support and strong coordination to help deliver safe, well-maintained community spaces. As part of the Parks and Natural Environment leadership group, you'll also contribute to broader planning and service delivery in a role with real impact.

This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role, helping shape the quality, safety and functionality of Banyule's parks and open space assets. As Park Assets Team Leader, you'll lead day-to-day operations and support the delivery of asset maintenance and playground works that keep our parks safe, well maintained and enjoyable for the community. Working closely with the Sportsfield & Park Assets Coordinator and wider leadership team, you'll combine technical expertise, people leadership and operational oversight to deliver strong outcomes across a diverse range of projects and services.

You Will
* Lead, support and guide team members while contributing to the wider Parks and Natural Environment leadership group.
* Supervise and coordinate programmed asset and playground maintenance works to ensure they meet legislative, safety and quality standards.
* Provide technical advice and reporting on Council's park assets, supporting planning, maintenance and improvement projects.
* Oversee contractors and staff to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with specifications and OHS requirements.
* Assist in developing and implementing maintenance programs, projects and improvement initiatives across all park assets.
* Respond to customer requests and operational issues, ensuring all park assets are managed effectively, and services are delivered to a high standard.
What You'll Bring/what We Are Looking For

We're looking for a capable and practical leader who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to coordinate teams, contractors and projects in a fast‐paced operational environment. You'll bring experience in open space or asset management, a collaborative approach to working with others, and the ability to deliver high‐quality outcomes that support safe, well‐maintained parks and community spaces.

You'll Have
* A Diploma in Horticulture, Construction, Project Management or a related field, or substantial equivalent experience.
* Proven team leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver maintenance programs and projects.
* Experience working in open space operations or asset management, ideally within local government or a similar service environment.
* Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical advice, project briefs and reports.
* Sound understanding of relevant legislation, standards and practices relating to playgrounds, park assets and operational safety.
Pre‐employment Requirements
* Current Victorian Drivers Licence to drive vehicles up to 4.5 tonnes GCM (car).
* Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
* Functional Capacity Assessment
* CPR/First Aid
We Offer
* A permanent, full time role.
* Salary range $98,255.03 to $106,820.88 per annum plus super
* 26 weeks of paid parental leave – primary carer / 4 weeks of paid parental leave – partner
