About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Disputes Lawyer with a minimum 2‑4 years PQE to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly regarded lawyers on a broad range of commercial disputes.
You will have the chance to work with clients across the not‑for‑profit, education, social housing, aged care and building & construction sectors on diverse commercial disputes. You will be responsible for drafting legal documents, conducting legal research and assisting with client strategy. As part of a collaborative team you’ll have the opportunity to handle client communications, attend hearings and support the team through all stages of litigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise clients on a range of commercial disputes including contractual, corporate, property and leasing disputes.
* Draft and review pleadings, correspondence and other legal documents.
* Assist in the preparation and conduct of litigation including attending court hearings and mediations.
* Liaise directly with clients and other external stakeholders to provide clear and strategic advice.
* Conduct legal research and keep up‑to‑date with developments in commercial litigation.
* Support senior lawyers and partners in the management of complex cases.
* Contribute to business development activities and firm‑wide initiatives.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A minimum 2‑4 years PQE in commercial disputes gained from a law firm or in‑house team.
* Strong technical knowledge of commercial litigation and key legal principles and procedures.
* Excellent communication and drafting skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.
* A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* A client‑focused approach with an interest in building relationships and developing a commercial understanding of client needs.
* A team‑oriented mindset combined with the ability to work independently when required.
