Salary range: $91,138 + 13.5% superannuation.
About the role
Join us as Team Leader – Accounts Payable and Receivable. The City of Hobart is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to oversee our accounts payable and receivable operations. In this pivotal role, you will drive financial accuracy, operational excellence and exceptional customer service across our financial functions.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and manage the finance team by providing direction, support and professional development.
* Manage the daily operations of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and exceptional customer service.
* Lead a team of four finance officers, providing supervision, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
* Manage the City's payment processes, credit management and debt collection in line with Council policy.
* Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to support continuous improvement and mitigate financial risks.
* Reconcile and approve general ledger accounts related to accounts payable and receivable.
* Use financial systems and data proactively to support operational excellence and informed decision‐making.
Essentials for the role
* Diploma in accounting, finance or a related discipline coupled with relevant experience in a similar role.
* Minimum of three years' experience in supervision, coaching, mentoring, training and performance management of staff.
* In‐depth knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes within a complex organisation.
* Proficiency in financial systems (preferably NAVision) and confidence using a range of digital tools and platforms.
* Solid understanding of GST legislation and experience applying financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
* Clear and professional communication, building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
