Open Pit Technician Job Overview
This role encompasses conducting risk assessments, completing safety inspections, and assisting geologists and surveyors with geological mapping and sampling.
* Conduct thorough risk assessments for field tasks at both team and individual levels.
* Regularly inspect grade control drill rigs and ancillary equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaborate with geologists and surveyors in completing ore mark ups, geological mapping, and clast hole sampling.
* Maintain high standards by ensuring samples meet the required GC QC sampling criteria before removal from the drill site.
* Promptly report any non-compliance in sampling or drilling techniques to the driller and Senior Geologist.
* Accurately document all sample submissions and drilling activities completed by the Open Pit Geology team electronically.
