The Role

You will be providing on‑the‑job training for Year 11 and 12 students, deliver and assess Certificates II and III in Agriculture, and oversee Workplace Health and Safety requirements. Strong employability skills, effective teamwork, and the ability to work confidently with students in a training environment are desired.

As a Technical Officer – Agricultural Instruction, you will support day‑to‑day operations of the College Farm, deliver supervised agricultural training, and assist with assessment of student skills. Applicants must hold a C‑class driver's licence and will be supported to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and an HR licence, and any other training required, funded by the College. The role includes a broad range of agricultural tasks such as supporting cropping and livestock systems, caring for animals, operating machinery, and maintaining farm infrastructure like fences. We will utilise your strengths and interests as much as possible.

On top of the Level 1, 2, and 3 salary packages stated, an additional 150 hrs overtime per year is paid fortnightly as part of the Technical Officer salary package and this is used during (shared) rostered weekend duties and other duties as required.

Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.

The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.

Level 1.3, $69,256 - Level 1.4, $72,068 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA % commuted allowance (PSCA 2024)

Level 2, $76,912 - $82,464 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA % commuted allowance (PSCA 2024)

Level 3, $86,439 - $92,795 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA % commuted allowance (PSCA 2024)
