Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Planning Director to drive strategic planning and direction for our underground gold copper mine.
Main Responsibilities:
* To oversee the development of safe, detailed underground mine designs with consideration for future growth.
* To manage the preparation of all medium and long-term schedules including monthly forecasts, quarterly projections, and LOM plans.
* To lead the annual mine budget preparation process including updating power and cost models.
* To assist with Mineral Reserves reporting and ensure accurate data is provided.
* To develop and maintain the cut-off grade strategy including regular review of inputs.
* To conduct feasibility and due diligence evaluations on prospective mining areas.
* To complete financial evaluations and optimizations to implement the most economical mine plan.
* To drive spatial compliance to meet monthly, quarterly, and budget targets.
* To identify and communicate risks to the safe and efficient delivery of mine plans including recommended mitigation strategies.
* To direct and lead operational and technical mining teams including the mining contractor.
* To work collaboratively with Mine Geology to design, schedule, and manage grade control and resource definition requirements.
* To ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and legislation.
* To provide support to the Underground Mine Manager as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
* First Class WA Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
* Comprehensive experience in UG mining including narrow vein gold operations.
* Exposure to various aspects of UG mines including production/drill & blast, ventilation, backfill, projects, scheduling, and operations.
* Significant Mine Planning experience up to and including budgets, LOM, and feasibility studies.
* Experience in Reserve estimation and report writing.
* Acting experience as either an Alternate or Deputy Underground Manager.
* Previous contractor management experience.
* Interpersonal, communication, presentation, literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role with training, coaching, and mentoring technical professionals.
* Knowledge of WA Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
