The Opportunity
In this role, you will report to the Manager PCS & OT and work a 5:2 roster from our head office in Osborne Park, Western Australia with regular ad‐hoc site visits. Your focus will be on supporting, maintaining and optimising the systems which are used to monitor and control the materials handling equipment onboard the transhipping vessels under the control of MinRes Marine.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining effectiveness of process control systems including PLC, HMI, Historian and alarm systems.
* Troubleshooting and problem‐solving, providing technical advice and support to the crews.
* Evaluate equipment and processes to identify ways to optimise performance.
* Maintaining, modifying and testing existing systems.
* Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports to key stakeholders.
* Assist with purchasing of materials for projects by assessing quantities and completing purchase orders.
* Identify opportunities to improve plant performance through use of process control technologies.
* Develop and maintain Safe Work Procedures, standards and specifications for the control systems and associated equipment.
* Assist in the organisation, planning, preparation and execution of plant shutdowns and start‐ups where required.
* Deliver training and up‐skilling to electrical maintenance personnel in areas of troubleshooting and basic maintenance of the control systems.
What is Required?
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated operational experience as a Senior Control System Engineer in a production environment. Strong proficiency and hands‐on experience required in:
* GEC Simplicity SCADA systems.
* Emerson PAC Systems RX3i PLC programming.
* Industrial Ethernet protocols including Profinet and Modbus‐TCP/IP.
* Network communications and associated systems.
* Drives and field instrumentation.
* Materials handling systems in a Marine environment is highly desirable.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
* A tertiary degree in Electrical/Control/Automation Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification with demonstrated experience.

The project encompasses the Ken's Bore mine (approximately 150km from Onslow), Truck Maintenance Facility and Onslow Port infrastructure.
