Procurement Project Manager
Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
In this 24‑month Fixed Term Contract role, you will be responsible for securing the best procurement outcomes, ensuring competitiveness, quality, and on‑time delivery while meeting customer needs.
Key Activities And Responsibilities
- Responsible for all upstream procurement aspects of the allocated projects
- Encourage professional and ethical procurement, as well as support best practices
- Provide the best procurement solution and implement acquisition strategies aligned with targets for Time, Quality, Total Cost of Ownership, and Risk Management
- Update our procurement dashboard regularly to reflect progress and metrics
- Collaborate with Category Managers to finalize outstanding work packages and select suppliers through the PVet process
- Work closely with operational teams and Category Buyers to ensure effective execution of the Procurement plan
- Define and monitor contractual requirements to streamline acquisitions
- Provide accurate and timely updates on the progress of the acquisition plan and Estimated Time to Completion within a energetic project environment
- Tackle delivery challenges proactively to minimize schedule impacts in an agile way
- Prioritize tasks based on customer and internal stakeholder needs
Key Knowledge And Experience
- Significant project management exposure in a complex/agile environment in a similar role, or equivalent experience with a proven track record of delivering successful procurement project outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen and experience
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with customers and suppliers to achieve desired outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with experience leading diverse teams
- Relevant degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related field
- Defence industry experience is highly desirable but not essential
- Ability to obtain Australian Defence clearances and availability to regional travel as required
