HTC Foods is an established and growing Australian food importer and distributor supplying premium seafood and specialty products to wholesale, retail, and foodservice customers nationwide. With both local and international sourcing and an integrated supply chain, the business is entering a critical phase of structured growth, operational refinement, and market expansion.
We are seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead HTC Foods through its next stage of development, reporting directly to the Board.
Role Overview
The CEO holds full accountability for the overall performance, strategy, and sustainability of HTC Foods. This role is responsible for translating Board direction into executable commercial and operational plans, while ensuring strong financial performance, disciplined risk management, and a high‐performing leadership team.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable setting long‐term strategy and driving day‐to‐day execution across procurement, importation, sales, finance, logistics, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long‐term business strategies aligned with Board objectives
* Identify and assess growth opportunities across product range, sourcing regions, and customer channels
* Lead expansion initiatives including new product lines, supplier partnerships, and market opportunities
* Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and customer demand to inform strategic decisions
* Own company‐wide revenue, margin, profitability, and cash‐flow outcomes
* Approve annual budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans
* Ensure strong financial controls, reporting accuracy, and cost discipline
* Maintain effective working capital and balance growth with cash management
Operations & Supply Chain Oversight
* Provide executive oversight of procurement, importation, warehousing, and distribution
* Ensure continuity of supply, supplier reliability, and operational scalability
* Oversee food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance frameworks
* Ensure robust contingency planning and risk mitigation across the supply chain
* Set sales, pricing, and customer engagement strategies
* Maintain key customer relationships and oversee major commercial negotiations
* Ensure customer service levels support both profitability and long‐term retention
* Guide brand positioning and go‐to‐market strategy in collaboration with Marketing
People & Culture
* Build, lead, and develop a high‐performing executive and senior management team
* Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and KPI ownership
* Foster a culture of ownership, integrity, and continuous improvement
* Oversee leadership development, succession planning, and organisational capability
* Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements
* Maintain strong relationships with the Board, shareholders, banks, auditors, and regulators
* Represent HTC Foods externally with key stakeholders and partners
* Lead risk management, crisis response, and business continuity planning
Experience & Capability
* Proven experience as a CEO or senior executive with full P&L accountability
* Strong commercial and financial acumen with hands‐on leadership capability
* Experience in food, FMCG, import/export, or distribution‐based businesses
* Demonstrated ability to scale operations while protecting margin and cash flow
* Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable operating in a fast‐moving, growth‐focused environment
