**The Opportunity**
The Lawyer/Duty Lawyer - FASS will assist in the provision of a duty lawyer service at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and such other courts as may be required.
The Lawyer/Duty Lawyer - FASS will provide legal advice and information to unrepresented litigants, liaise with court staff, practitioners and other organisations who may deal with the family law system and undertake general legal work, in the Family Law Jurisdiction.
**Total Indicative Remuneration Package**
$81,261 to $88,109 per annum pro rata including salary, superannuation and leave loading.
As a not-for-profit organisation, Legal Services is able to offer its employees attractive salary sacrifice arrangements, including up to $15,900 pre-tax Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) year for general living expenses.
**Term of Employment**
Temporary contract up to 24 months available at the LSC1 classification level.
**What You Need for Success**
- Deliver high quality, concise advice by assessing problems logically, thoroughly and reliably with due skill and diligence.
- Experience in communicating effectively with a wide range of people from cultural, ethnic, and indigenous backgrounds and/or persons with a physical or mental illness.
- Manage a file load under supervision and work effectively under challenging conditions.
- Possess a strong commitment to the principle of the equality of access to justice for all persons.
- Possess a strong commitment to the rights of children under the law and international conventions.
