About the Role
As a
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality emergency and acute care to a diverse patient population, including remote and Indigenous communities. You'll manage a broad range of presentations - from trauma and acute illness to chronic disease exacerbations - using advanced clinical skills in a supportive and well-equipped environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform
triage
and
resuscitation (Resus)
in accordance with clinical guidelines and emergency standards.
* Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide variety of emergency and acute conditions.
* Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.
* Respond to trauma and critical incidents with confidence and clinical expertise.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
* Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and safety initiatives.
* Support and mentor junior nurses and students to foster professional development.
* Provide culturally sensitive care and build trust with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families.
Essential Criteria
* Current
AHPRA Registration
(or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse - Division 1).
* Minimum
2 years' Emergency or Acute Care nursing experience
.
* Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualification
(current or willingness to obtain).
* Demonstrated skills in
triage and resuscitation
.
* Proven ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic clinical environments.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
* Cultural awareness and commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous communities.
