Scientific Laboratory Technician Role
We are seeking a skilled Scientific Laboratory Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage laboratory materials, ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
* Assist with maintaining hazardous substance registers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and emergency equipment.
* Conduct risk assessments, maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and assist with the ordering of chemicals and equipment.
* Clean and maintain laboratory apparatus, set up materials, rooms, and displays for events such as Open Days.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to allocate materials, assist in classroom setup, and support practical lessons.
* Advise staff on technical aspects of practical equipment, contribute to developing practical activities, and participate in process improvements and initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess a Certificate IV Laboratory Techniques or equivalent science qualification, previous experience as a Laboratory Technician in a secondary school, and knowledge of Safe Chemical storage and safe use of Laboratory equipment in accordance with current regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* A relevant certificate or degree in a related field.
* Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a secondary school environment.
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
