Offer description

Location: Canberra
- Job Type: Ongoing/ Non-Ongoing, full-time
- Salary: $83,934 - $94,983

The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia's national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. We are a full member of the National Intelligence Community, an Attorney General's Portfolio agency, and a member of the Five Eyes Law Enforcement Group.

The ACIC is at the forefront of tackling serious and organised crime targeting Australia, both within our borders and offshore. Our staff operate against a pervasive, transnational and globalised criminal threat, and work hard to realise an Australia hostile to criminal exploitation. As a small agency that makes a real impact on serious and organised crime, we need talented and dedicated people who are intelligent, highly capable and seeking to make a difference to the lives of all Australians.

**About the branch**

The ACIC Intelligence Group business model is founded on four core capability pillars—examinations, technical intelligence, human intelligence and data analytics. These pillars are interconnected and inform one another to guide intelligence collection priorities and methodologies. Collection Operations branch works collaboratively with internal investigations and operational teams and external partners to collect criminal intelligence through covert and sensitive means.

The Operational Strategy Branch aims to develop strategies and programs of work that deliver actionable criminal intelligence to our partners. We do this by leveraging off our national and international footprint to collect intelligence and coordinate operational activity to significantly disrupt domestic and offshore organised crime syndicates adversely impacting on Australia. It also develops opportunities to identify new and emerging threats posed by serious organised crime and ways to mitigate these threats.

The Operational Strategy Branch also involves the international deployments of our transnational criminal analysts to partner agencies. These deployments allow us to leverage off international collaboration to collect unique intelligence in line with the agency mandate. The transnational analysts leverage off our international partners and collect intelligence relevant to our Determinations which adds to our national criminal intelligence holdings to help us discover new threats previously unknown to law enforcement.

**About the role**
