Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the store, ensuring high standards of customer service, food safety, staff performance, and financial control. This role leads the team, drives sales, manages costs, and ensures the business operates efficiently and compliantly.
Responsibilities
* Operations & Store Management
o Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth service and consistent food quality
o Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations
o Maintain store presentation and equipment standards
o Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
* Staff Leadership & Training
o Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff
o Lead by example to build a positive, high-performing team culture
o Conduct staff inductions and ongoing training
o Monitor staff performance and address issues in line with company policies
* Financial & Administrative Duties
o Manage payroll, timesheets, and labour costs
o Oversee stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier coordination
o Minimise waste and control food and operating costs
o Maintain accurate records, reports, and basic bookkeeping
* Compliance & Business Support
o Ensure compliance with Fair Work, workplace health and safety, and company procedures
o Support business growth initiatives and operational improvements
o Liaise with directors and management on store performance
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in retail or hospitality management
* Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Knowledge of food safety and workplace compliance
* Ability to manage stock, costs, and rosters effectively
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
