We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join a dynamic retail property team in Perth. This is a hands-on role where you will leverage your financial expertise to support property operations, identify cost efficiencies, and contribute to business improvement initiatives. OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Financial Controller and Centre Manager, you will maintain strong financial management, including accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial projects. You’ll also collaborate with property teams to analyse data, identify improvements, and support key property decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support financial management of the retail property portfolio Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports, including budgets, reforecasts, accruals, and variance analysis Maintain long-term forecasts and ensure assumptions are reliable and accurate Administer and maintain property financial systems (e.g., Yardi) Collaborate with teams to review property expenses and identify efficiency opportunities Manage VO and Promotional Fund audits, capex, and marketing cash flow Calculate percentage rent and other lease adjustments Review tenancy schedules and provide financial guidance to property staff Analyse leasing deals and assess impacts on valuations Assist with ad hoc financial projects as required CRITERIA: Tertiary qualification in Accounting with at leased 3 years’ experience in a similar role (Property Accountant or Finance Manager); CA preferred Knowledge of property valuations Experience in Financial Accounting, including systems and reporting processes, with exposure to property forecasting and valuation systems Highly proficient with computers and able to quickly learn new systems with training Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve conflict Well-developed planning and organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines while delivering accurate and high-quality work Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, implement improvements, and drive change Demonstrated initiative and ability to exercise judgment and resolve issues independently Ability to work without supervision Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs Familiarity with property management software and systems (particularly Yardi) is an advantage This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team where your skills will make a real impact on property performance.
