Barista / All rounder
Coogee Continental Deli is a is a suburban hub for great coffee and continental favorites. We are searching for a passionate, reliable, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you'll be the face of our café, responsible for delivering exceptional coffee, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. You'll prepare a range of espresso-based beverages, assist with food service, and contribute to a clean and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages to consistent standards
* Take customer orders with accuracy, warmth, and efficiency
* Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and café area
* Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
* Restock supplies and rotate stock as required
* Serve customers and assist with operational tasks
* Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
* Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
* Support team members during busy periods and help create a positive team environment
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a café or hospitality setting (barista experience preferred)
* Confident using equipment and steaming milk to texture
* Knowledge of coffee beans, grind, extraction time, and drink variations
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
* A strong work ethic, reliability, and team-focused attitude
* Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and public holidays as needed
Desirable:
* Barista training or certification
* Experience with food handling or kitchen assistance
* Interest in coffee and hospitality trends
Our store operates 7 days per week.
The successful applicate will be required to work day shifts and weekends. With possible afternoon shifts & public holidays. We offer a friendly, fair work place, we work hard but have the music cracked and have a laugh. The applicant must reside in Australia and have the correct working visa (if necessary) to work in Australia.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Pay: $33.20 – $56.00 per hour
