This key role works as part of a team that helps families connect with services like schools, hospitals, and child health programs. Your role is to understand what families need and provide support early on, especially for those who may be struggling. The goal is to help children and families before problems become more serious and require more intensive help.
This program focuses on helping families improve how they interact with their children, build confidence in parenting, and learn how to take care of themselves. It also encourages children to attend important services like maternal and child health appointments, kindergarten, and school regularly.
Parents are supported to build stronger social connections, such as joining peer support groups. At the same time, staff in schools and health services are given tools and training to better support families with early challenges, making sure everyone involved feels confident and capable.
Responsibilities
- Autonomous role improving the quality of parent child interactions
- Help reduce the need for intensive family and statutory services
- SCHADS Level 5 + Super, Full Time fixed term until 30 June 2027

Your skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising or overseeing staff, including providing guidance, support, and performance monitoring to ensure quality service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in the child and family welfare sector, or in a related field with transferable skills, with a robust focus on supporting vulnerable and complex families and children at risk.
